K Rend Base Coats for High Density Block / Brick / Concrete
Create a suitable background for rendering dense blockwork, brick and concrete with K Rend base coats and bonding aids. Smooth or low-suction surfaces can require additional preparation to achieve the adhesion needed for the render system.
The selection includes HP12 and HPX base coats, R7 and R10 bonding aids, and reinforcement mesh. These products fulfil different functions and should be chosen to suit the specific masonry and surface condition. Assess the background before ordering, then follow the specified sequence for preparation, base-coat application and finishing.
K Rend HP12 is a high-polymer base coat designed to provide improved adhesion and water resistance on difficult substrates. Suitable for hand or spray application, this K Rend base coat creates a reliable background for compatible K Rend finishes. Scrim cloth may be required in certain applications to reinforce the system.

K Rend R7 Acrylic is a modified Acrylic emulsion used to improve the adhesion of K Rend renders to difficult substrates, where the background does not provide sufficient key or has poor suction characteristics.

R10 is a low odour, ready to use primer and is quick and easy to apply by roller or brush.
