VPI RenoPass Inter provides a new render base over sound existing façades that would otherwise be difficult to renovate. This thin, fibre-reinforced intermediate coat is designed for old painted masonry, decorative organic coatings and existing hydraulic renders.
Its formulation helps the new render system adhere to the retained surface, reducing the need to remove a stable existing coating completely. RenoPass Inter can also be used to level irregular areas before a compatible decorative finish is applied.
The mortar may be installed manually or with suitable spray equipment. Application thickness and coverage will vary according to the texture and condition of the background, so the existing façade must be inspected and prepared before work begins.
Suitable renovation backgrounds include:
- Sound existing masonry paint
- Old organic decorative render coatings
- Existing hydraulic render
- Small-format ceramic or glass mosaic finishes, subject to specification
- Suitable thin concrete façade panels
- Selected existing external wall insulation systems following technical assessment
